Why Dogs and Food?

Why Dogs and Food?

It's simple. Write about what you love. And what is better than dogs and food? If you are anything like me - and millions of other people - you will relate to and understand the unwavering love I have for my dogs and my passion for cooking - and eating - great food. I hope you will enjoy reading about my day to day experiences with good food and a couple of very special dogs.

Thanks for visiting.

Pit Bull Awareness Day

Today is Pit Bull Awareness Day.

These poor, lovely souls are so misunderstood.  So many people think that all pit bulls are mean and aggressive and unadoptable.  But these people are mistaken.  These dogs need love and caring just like any other dog and will give love back a million times over if just given the chance.  They seem to be the number one abandoned dog and there are many bad owners out there that train their pit bulls to fight and abuse and then abandon them in droves.  It is a tragedy.

I have a dear friend who has rescued two delightful pit bulls found wandering the streets of L.A. with no home and no loving family to care for them.  You can read about their stories on My Life with Tommy. Tommy was the first pittie that warmed his way into Susan's heart.  Then came Louise.  Unfortunately, Tommy and Louise are not a match made in heaven and so Susan finds herself having to make a difficult choice. She also has two cats that need her attention.  Alas, she has to put Louise up for adoption.  After all, Tommy was there first.

I am posting a photo of the beautiful and loving Louise.  You can read and see more about her on Susan's blog My Life with Tommy.  If you know of anyone who would like to have this expressive, well-behaved  little pittie as a part of their family, please, please let Susan know.......she wants to find a great forever home for this lovely girl.

Just look at her!

We must give these misunderstood pups a chance at a great life!

Awwww, Liz! You're so sweet! Thank you for joining the Adopt Louise campaign. She's bound to find a loving home with a great PR agent in the Bay Area. Louise gets better and better everyday. The person or family who takes her in is going to be very lucky indeed. She's a gem that Louise. Thanks again for spreading the word, Liz. You're one of Louise's angels.

I love her! I have not even met her but you have done such an excellent job in describing her and her lovely traits and manners, I can feel her presence. I do hope that she finds her forever family soon!
