Why Dogs and Food?

Why Dogs and Food?

It's simple. Write about what you love. And what is better than dogs and food? If you are anything like me - and millions of other people - you will relate to and understand the unwavering love I have for my dogs and my passion for cooking - and eating - great food. I hope you will enjoy reading about my day to day experiences with good food and a couple of very special dogs.

Thanks for visiting.

Peace and a New Year

"We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them ourselves.  The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Years Day." ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Another year gone by.  A new one begins.  I have always found New Year's Eve a little sad.  As I sit in my warm and cozy living room watching and listening to Coldplay on the TV, I hold up my glass of champagne and toast another New Year.  Even though Brian is already in bed fast asleep, I am not alone.  My boys are right here with me.  I reflect on the past year and of many years gone by.  Time for a brand new year to start.

At midnight, Walter and Henry are sleeping.  To them, it's just another regular night.  No New Year's resolutions to think about.  No wondering what the New Year will bring.  No worries at all.  How lovely to look at them with such peace on their faces and more importantly, in their hearts.

Here's to a wonderfully happy and peaceful New Year!

Hi Liz:
Oh Happy New Year dear lady!

Your blog is very and darling, just like you. Our dogs are so amazingly honest with their love of others.

The world fills with wonder and love each day.

Love you girl. Keep the positive energy coming.

Kristen

Liz, there's such sweet melancholy in your words. Why do you find New Year's Eve a little sad? Because you think about the passage of time?

I love how animals live in the moment without the anxieties that plague us. I would love to be as zen as our doggies! Hope you all have a fantastic year.

Love, Sue

Hi Kris! off to read your blog now...

Hi Kris - thanks for your sweet comments....I will keep it coming as long as I am able.

Sue - yes, perhaps the passage of time has something to do with it but I think there are many reasons I get a little sad.... it could be that Christmas is over and all the festivities and decorations and sparkling lights that we anticipated and scurried around preparing for are all put away in their boxes; reflecting on missed opportunities; facing the unknown in the upcoming year...who knows. I just never considered New Year's Eve a very happy holiday for me. But I am trying to make a promise to myself that I will live more in the moment and hope that will make my life less complicated. It may not necessarily make it easier, but will hopefully simplify things. Happy New Year to you my dear friend!

I agree with Susan, me too, "I would love to be as zen as our doggies".

Love the photos of Walter and Henry with his toy. So cute!

A Very Happy New Year!
