Why Dogs and Food?

Why Dogs and Food?

It's simple. Write about what you love. And what is better than dogs and food? If you are anything like me - and millions of other people - you will relate to and understand the unwavering love I have for my dogs and my passion for cooking - and eating - great food. I hope you will enjoy reading about my day to day experiences with good food and a couple of very special dogs.

Thanks for visiting.

Henry, the Cool Dude!

"If having a soul means to be able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans." ~ James Herriot

Henry sporting his cool shades during laser therapy
Henry goes to the Vet twice a week for shots of Adequan to help manage his pain.  Adequan is a joint pain treatment that is injected into the muscle and helps with inflammation and hopefully relieves some of the pain from his arthritis.  We have also started him on laser therapy treatments that also help with joint inflammation.  He had his first treatment this week and is seen here sporting some very groovy goggles and a big smile.  The technicians were giving him kisses the entire time he went through the treatment and I think he was digging the attention!  Henry is a very cool dude.

What a cutie! I'm going to look into Adequan for my cat - she just turned 20 and has some joint problems in her old age. LOVE that Herriot quote!! :)

Cafe - yes, I love the quote, too. James Herriot is one of my heroes.

Yes, you should try the Adequan for your kitty. A friend of mine also gets the laser therapy for her cat. I have a 20-year old cat, too! He is starting to wobble a little but fortunately is still pretty limber and doesn't seem to have joint issues. Once Henry finishes his first 4 weeks in the Vet for shots 2X a week, we will then administer the shots at home about once a month. He seems to be ding fine with this treatment! Thanks for stopping by!

Henry is a trooper! And a really cool dude. I've heard that massage can help dogs with arthritis. I just googled and came across this: http://www.chondropaw.com/acupressure-for-dogs-with-arthritis-dysplasia/

Didn't watch the video but maybe there's some helpful info there?

Good luck, Liz. Oh, and Mac is the miracle cat!

Hi Sue! Yes, we re looking into acupuncture and massage and possibly hip surgery if he is candidate. Henry loves life so much that we want to make sure he has as long as possible on this earth.

Yes, Macky is the miracle cat but he certainly is a handful a with his middle-of-the-night whining sessions. He is a bit wobbly these days, can hardly hear and seems to have touch of dementia. But he also seems not to want to leave this earth just yet. Animals amaze me.
